I help couples uncover the deeper patterns in their relationship, exploring how emotions, needs, and communication cycles shape the way they connect.

Through Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), we’ll work to understand what’s happening beneath the surface and begin creating new ways of relating that feel secure, meaningful, and lasting.

Alerica’s Approach to Connection

Isn’t it interesting how romantic comedies and novels often leave us with the idea that “happily ever after” is the end of the story? In reality, relationships rarely follow such a neatly packaged formula. As much as we long for the fairy tale ending, the truth is that the real work begins once the couple comes together.

Many of us experience the highs of love and the lows of life’s unexpected twists. From marital disagreements to blended families, from moments of intimacy to navigating complex dynamics with in-laws, these challenges are all part of bringing two lives together. They can leave us feeling misunderstood, alone, or even hopeless. But conflict doesn’t mean the love is gone. It often means growth is needed.

Over time, I’ve learned that one of the most powerful tools in facing these challenges is understanding your cycle. These are the patterns of communication and behaviour that show up in your relationship. How do you and your partner respond to each other when things get tense? By exploring and shifting these patterns together, couples can build deeper, more secure connections. Relationships are always evolving, and the goal isn’t perfection, but greater understanding.

I work with couples using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), a compassionate, research-based approach that helps each partner tune into their emotions and needs. I see you as the expert on your life, and together we’ll identify what works best for your relationship. You determine the direction of our work. My role is to support you with care, insight, and curiosity as we move forward, together.
