Get to know Nigel

I came into psychotherapy from a less traditional path, starting in protection and criminology, moving into behaviourism, and eventually finding my place in the field of psychology. I hold a degree in Protection, Security and Investigation, a bachelor’s in Behavioural Science, and a Master’s in Counselling Psychology. Each step of my journey has shaped the therapist I am today: curious, open-minded, and always evolving.

I draw from all aspects of my background to avoid being a one-dimensional therapist. My goal is to keep learning so I can support my clients in meaningful, personalized ways. In over two years of practice, I’ve built a flexible and inclusive approach, working both in-person and virtually with clients ranging in age from 14 to 70. I support individuals, couples, and communities, including those navigating trauma, grief, burnout, anxiety, life transitions, and identity-based stress. These experiences have deepened my ability to meet clients where they are and walk with them toward where they want to be.

There’s a difference between feeling stuck and feeling confused. Feeling stuck means you’ve identified where you are. Feeling confused, on the other hand, can leave you spinning in all directions. That’s why our work together will come from a place of non-judgment, offering a calm and supportive space where you don’t have to have everything figured out right away.

Therapy is a marathon, not a sprint. We’ll set realistic, attainable goals that make the process feel achievable and empowering. I use evidence-based models like IFS, EFT, and CBT to help you connect with your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours, so you can begin creating the purposeful change you’re looking for.
